So I was thinking the other day that I am serious need of a vacation and that spending a my vacation out deer hunting couldn't be a better idea. I was also thinking that I have lived in South Dakota for going on 8 years now and have never been to the Black Hills nor have I ever attempted to hunt a Mule deer, so I put 2 and 2 together and came up with spending my vacation in the black hills hunting mulies the weekend of Nov 11-15. Here in lies the problem however, I know NOTHING about Mulies or the Black Hills and wouldn't even know where to start looking for places to hunt. Can anyone offer alittle direction, I do not want to know any personal honey holes or gps coordinates, just a starting point. Is there alot of public ground available to hunt?

the black hills are mostly forest service, so it's all public huntable land. i'm from the northern hills and we have low numbers of mulies here. try down south more, around custer or edgemont.
