Ed Ames as Mingo, the Indian, and Rosie Greer as the free slave.

Lotta good lessons on that show for youngsters... and many that need to be taught again today, because they've been forgotten.

I didn't. I'm going off of everything I've ever heard others say over my 51 years. In that time I have never heard anyone say a cross word about him, and only heard endearing remarks.

Having grown up in the 60's and 70's i was a huge fan of The Daniel Boone TV show. I ever had a real coonskin cap.

Thanks for the memories Fess, Rest In Peace

Heck! You Ole boys can't be the only ones to lay claim to Crockett!!!

I GREW UP watching reruns of him on the Magical World of Disney Sunday nights. (Grandma wouldn't let me have a coon skin hat ... cause I was a girl!)

When I was 6 years old, I got a Davy Crockett coon skin cap and a leather fringe shirt for Christmas. Thanks Fess for the memories.

Even as a bad guy (Killer Kane), he was a good guy. RIP
