Good luck with this early season, hope it works out for you all and the state. Sure do miss those moff grass swamps for bowhunting.

I'm headed out tomorrow to check my cameras. Where are you hunting? Looks good and wet like my place.

Some of my deer have been hard horned for a month.

Some bucks have been hard horn for 2 months and I saw a buck chasing a doe 2 weeks ago hard. I pulled my card last night from my camera on another property of mine and got a awesome picture of this nice buck in full velvet last week. Florida is crazy for sure. And yes it is super wet and the bugs are terrible but who cares when the bucks are around.Only 20 days till the season starts.

FLcracker13, I'm guessing you put in for Babcock Ranch again this year, after the good fortunes you had in there last year. Quotas should be up soon, probably monday. If you go on fwc now it shows the leftover quotas on the check permit availablility page, but you can't see it on your individual page yet.
As far as game camera pics, unfortunatly the only private land I hunt is too risky to put a camera up on. I've already had a feeder stolen from out there.

Yea the velvet deer threw me for a loop and the day is correct. I have been seeing hard horned bucks for 2 months and rubs everywhere and even a buck chasing a doe and then this old boy shows up this week. Maybe he will still be in velvet for archery you never know.

He's not a shooter but he does have a extra main beam.

that reminds me, I need to double check the therma cell. Make sure she still works and that I have plenty of fuel and chemical patches.

The Wal Marts in CC and NoFo dont have any on the shelf. I have looked twice in the last week.

Cool pictures and I'm sure the ThermaCell refills are going to be in very short supply.

I have no good bucks on camera yet. They dont show up until the rut kicks in. I do have this coon beat down. Some nice tom's and this bar....he has run everything off. Even the coons. I need to get rid of him this weekend.

I saw it happen in person once. I was sitting in the tree with my bow just at first light. There were does and coons under the feeder. I had just turned my head back to look under the feeder and one of the does stomped a coon, the coon screamed and I nearly dropped my bow. Scared the hell out of me.

I just looked at the time on the 2nd photo. I also had several nice bucks on camera during the middle of the day last week and weekend.

That coon beatdown is priceless! Don't you wish more deer would do that on a regular basis. Save your corn for sure!

Thanks for sharing.

Seeing those pics and talking about Babcock makes me think back to living in Ft. Lauderdale, dating a girl in Cape Coral, and bowhunting hogs every available weekend.

Sure it's hot and the mosquitoes are relentless, but there's something special about bowhunting in FL.

I wish something would start eating to coons. I had five under my feeder for an hour Sunday morning. I guess a well placed judo point will work.

I have been hunting GA for the last two years on a buddy of mines lease. He has got a pile of hogs. I had a lease there for 10 years...from 89 to 99...we had no hogs at all. Now they are everywhere it seems.
