I just read on the WI DNR website that you can now use dogs to hunt turkeys. I'm not a turkey hunter, so how do you use dogs for turkeys??

break up the flocks in fall, then call them back.

Yep, break the flock a little bit before they go to roost at night. This requires the dog to get close without barking so the birds scatter and seperate from eachother. That way they'll roost in pairs or alone overnight. If the dog doesn't get close enough, they'll fly away as a group. Once you scatter them, you set up early the next morning right where the dog scattered them and set up a decoy. start calling when you hear some come down from the roost and they will try to regroup close to the calls.
