I'm looking for some places to go on my next outdoor excursion. Share your favorite places to hike/trek/camp in the US. I love to rough it- especially in beautiful scenery. Opportunities for activities such as rafting, kayaking, or climbing is a plus. Thanks!

You can hardly beat the John Muir trail and surrounding areas in the Sierra Nevada Mountains. You can plan treks of any length. There is also great climbing, back country fishing and isolated backcountry to explore. Provide a little more info on what you like to do (time, distance, activities) and I can make some recommendations.

Wind river indian reservation near Pinedale Wyoming. I've been to a few different trailheads in that area and all are beautiful. On one trip in particular we caught literally hundreds of trout in the spider lakes area. The seneca lakes are also very good fishing.
