Oklahoma set an all time record low in nowata (where one of my leases is at) this morning with an actual temp of -31 degrees. The best part (typical ok weather) is its calling for 60 degrees this weekend. Thats about a 90 degree temp change in less than 3 days.
Just thought ya'll would like to know :)

Make it stop!

It was -17 at the house, -7 in tulsa, maybe 15 miles away in a straight line. Crazy how much the temps change when it gets that cold, even from the top of a hill to the bottom.

oklahoma has some of the most extreme weather u will see.... And the most extreme weather changes. Summer highs above 100 with 98% humidity and below 0 in the winter with usually some sort of freezing precipitation.
As for the extreme changes... In our rifle season (opens the week of thanksgiving) of 2007 its was 85 and sunny, we sat in a towerstand with shorts on no shirt and took our boots off all week. We went home one day for thanksgiving and when we got back to hunt the next day it was below freezing and had a huge snow come it.

I said we have extreme weather but the best part is that it never last very long... A few crazy extremes with rather mild weather in between.

weather.com is showing -24 for Nowata. Still very cold and broke daily record by 26 degrees

You can see it about midway down on the right under "Today's Averages & Records" on the right change it from Highs to Lows.

I'm from minnesota, so this is nothing new to me. Granted we were right a freezing earlier here in central ok. I just keep asking myself where the heck was this weather during deer season?

exactly... My 2007 hunt i mentioned earlier, i did kill my best buck ever but it was so hot we didnt see any rutting activity. We had thought we missed it and talked to the biologist out where we hunt, he said it was one of the strongest ruts we have ever seen or not seen cause all the activity was at night.

Oh man, now that's funny!

Yeah, the Weather Channel sent one of their hurricane guys to Rapid and he said it was the worst weather he's ever seen. Not sure if he knew or not what the weather was like the day before.

-31 does suck for those Oklahoma boys though.
