So yeah, I watch Midwest Whitetail and I am about to get a treestand and I was just wondering. What is the deal with these Muddy treestands? Why are they so expensive and are they worth it? Same deal with the climbing sticks. You can get some for much cheaper.

The stands are awesome. The comfort and having the ability to level your platform really is worth the money. Here's a link to their new Bloodsport stand that's coming out later this year: (

I'm no expert on the muddy stands so I'm asking this in all seriousness. What is different about the bloodsport stand in that video than all their other stands? Is it just the rope system vs. strap for hanging it?

Can you leave them up for the whole season?

If you want to leave something up all season, get the cheap ones from sportsmansguide or something. Muddy sticks are more for carrying in, and using those sticks and the stand for a quick setup instead of a climbing stand. No it's not worth it to buy them and put them up one time to leave all season. You're paying for light weight, packability, and ease of setup. I personally just use a climber, I like a bar around me, but some people like the loc ons and setting one up for a 3 hr hunt. It does gain you some versatility in what type of tree you can set up in. I think i'd use the muddy sticks and a tree saddle if I was going for that (still feel safer), but I'm still sticking with the climber.
