I am not quite sure this is the right forum but didnt see anything that said differently. I need some help from the FL people on here. I am taking a 5 day trip with my GF to FT. Lauderdale and we arent quite sure what to do when we are there. Looking to spend some beach time obviously and have looked into a fishing charter thats pretty cheap at $100 bucks for 8 hours. Other than that we are looking for restaurant suggestions, cool bars things to do. We will not have a car while we are down there so it will be public transit and cabs plus our good ole 2 feet. We arent afraid to spend some money to have a good time but also dont want to go broke since she is just coming into port on the 16th after a 2 week cruise. Lets here some suggestions. Also we are staying at Ocean Sky resort so anything close to there is great.

Well you have bass pro and fishing hall of fame to go and spend a little money, there are several little bars and resturants on the strip once there you can walk . check into an airboat tour take a ride in our swamps..off shore fishing I am not sure if its still around but use to be a resturant called rustic inn they did have great garlic blue crabs set down a big bowl and go to eatin

Rustic Inn's down the road from Bass Pro Shop, Several Drifting fishing boats out of Bahia Mar, Ft Lauderdale Beach. On the Beach you have Beach Place and several resturants. Also LasOlas Blvd many upclass resturants and shops. Seminole Casino in Hollywood - resturants, shows and of course the casinos. Ocean Sky Resort is north of the Ft Lauderdale Strip, long walk but short cab ride. Check with the resort they can set up transportation for you and give you suggestions on resturants. Ft Lauderdale and surrounding areas have just about anything you want to do.

Any good clubs/bars with live music?

For live music head down to Himmarshee Street downtown fort lauderdale. Tarpon Bend, Dicey Rileys usually have live music. Around the corner is Riverfront area and sometimes the Brick has music. Hard Rock casino has a little of everything, but probably a $40+ cab ride. For bus info, check out Broward County website.
Beach Place Favorites (more laid back beach bars)
Elbo room on the beach has live music too.
Dirty Blonde's for great beer prices
Route 66 is a club in down there too
You might find a 1/2 day reef trip for the price you are looking for. Those are bigger boats with lots of people. A charter boat for deep sea fishing is at least $600-800 for 1/2 day.

So how was your trip to Fla?

Awesome...Spent most of my time on the beach or by the pool. Hit up some nice restaurants. 101 Ocean was pretty cool, bar/restaurantTokyo Blue where I have all you can eat sushi, Lobster and steak. Went deep sea fishing with the girlfriend. Caught 2 Amber Jacks. One was 50lbs approx and the other was well over 70lbs. Awesome time. Cant wait to come back. I will have to upload some pics. I really wanted to get over to the rustic Inn but it just never happaned. Did a ton of walking around town and totally fell in love with Ft. Lauderdale. Met some really cool people down there from Canada that invited us up to go hunting this fall.
