View Full Version : What to look for in a stabilizer?

I'm looking for a stabilizer for a recurve, and I'd like to ask you for advice on the matter.

The thing is, I simply have no idea how to decide what size/length/weight/brand to choose... What's the difference between two stabilizers? What makes one better than the other?

The only thing I've tried is an Exe something, that seemed to be a bit light for me, I guess I could use more weight - but apart from this, I really don't know what should be taken into account when choosing a stabilizer.

Any help would be appreciated!

i dont shoot recurve, but in compound i use the stabilizer/backweight combo that makes the bow do what i want it to do. with most modern bows, vibrations is almost non existant, so i just look for a combo that balances well and that upon impact makes the bow lean slowly forwards. when i use a long sight bar, i use more back weight, and viceversa...
