I am wanting to start serving my own center serving and peep sights.

What material should I use? Can I use the same material for both applications? What size? I was going to use a Cavalier serving tool. Is this a good choice or can I use a less expensive one like the Martin Speed Spin?

The current string is a Hoyt facotry string. If I replace it, it will be with one of the custom strings I saw on here for ~50.00.

I shoot a release off of a loop by the way.

Thanks

0.021 should work for your hoyt string.

Which material should I use in a0.021 diameter. Looking around, a lot of materials are offered in 0.022. Is that a considerable difference?

What material would you reccomend?

Go to that BCY wep page it will tell you what to use and when to use it , it is a good Info page .

When I build my string out of 450+ 12 strands I use .026 for center serving
When I build my string out of 452x 20 strands I use .025 for center serving
I use #2 end loop for serving .

I use #2 end loop for serving . I use 22 strands with the 452 X, and with the .021 I get a nice tight fit with the super G nocks, and the super nocks. Do you get a little more speed with the 20 strands, or have you tested the difference? Does it still keep your peep stable and not creep? Any way you look at it, the BCY page will help you out, and they make a good product all the way around. The 452X is super stuff.
