What speed would the Rampage XT be for shooting a 55lb. draw weight and a 27" draw? Is this strong enough to effectively hunt elk?

Need to know your arrow weight. Google: backcountry bowhunting archery calculator. Put in your specs and it will calculate your speed and ke and shows what ke is sufficient for what types of gain.

i would get an arrow around 400 grains with a sharp cut on contact broadhead, or even better a 2 blade like a magnus buzzcut(or the 4 blade version)..and then stay away from heavy bones and youll be fine within reasonable shot distances

Thanks so much for the website. That takes all the guessing away.

haha thats weird, I am shooting the SAME exact specs and bow as you. I think it is plenty, but DO NOT use a mech. use a good COC head like a magnus, muzzy, slicktrick anything not mech. im not bashing em, but you need the penetration.
