How do you set your cable guard? Do you set it just enough to get fletching clearance? Does it change the tune of the bow. Does it have an affect on papertuning?

Yes to all of the above... That's why I changed to the carbon rods on my Hoyts...

Is there an adjustable carbon cable guard shaped as the SS "S" one?

Thanks,

I think they only make the s one in steel.

Oh, well.

I can set mine in the 11 o'clock position, so I have less torque than a straight rod.

I never had any issues with the strait carbon rods. The angled aluminum ones are junk though, IMHO.
Way too much flex in them.....especially with a 31" draw. I have stainless ones on both my bows now. They have more adjustment, and are much stiffer than aluminum is.....just my .02. :)
