Why the spammers ?? don't understand the motive

Why do people join to put some crap on AT to be banned instantly ? what is to gain or the motive of such posts as "my dress is too sexy" . I don't get it and never open them up but always report the thread to the mods.
Can the IP address be blocked ?
Really , why do they do it ?
