Here mine and my brothers 3D range we just setup yeseterday. We modeled it after Indoor style 3d because of the bears eating our targets. When we had an actual 3d coarse through the land last year.
You shoot from two stations at 10 target (for now) points are 1 1/2 times more so one can get your possible 300 . Station one is on the ground and all ranges are close to IBO limits;) Station two is a slightly elavated stand bout 8 feet and the distances are well over IBO and ASA limits.
So anyone having the own little 3d range or coarse?

VERY COOL
I was thinking of doing the same thing and even bought a target to get started. But man those targets are expensive and the chances of me getting ten of them (heck 5 of them) in the next 2 years is slim to none.
I am jealous :D

I just completed my home range (work still in progress). I currently have five targets set up so you shoot in a circle, shooting all targets from both sides. We shoot through 2 times from different stakes each time. It works pretty well, and gives you a way to keep up with your score so you can tell how you are shooting. Hope to eventually expand to a full 25 target course. Only thing holding me back is the price of the targets.

Just stopped in Cabelas in PA yesterday and bought two more targets. That gives me 15 in my course. I have a mixture of manufacturers. Some old Mckenzies that have been repaired two or three times, a rinehart, a couple of deltas, a couple of cabelas. I think the next ones will be R&W's. Trying to get to 20. Sure is nice stepping out back and shooting verses traveling to practice. I shoot the course just about everyday. My course winds through the woods and across a creek, I have a ladder stand in the center that can be shot from as well. I did have a casualty last month though, forgot I set up a racoon target in the grass and ran over it with my truck. It's now headless.

Thanks for the kinda words fellas!
I live near Jim Thorpe, PA and for those that would like to buy more targets but cannot afford new ones..like myself and brother. Look into joining a local club, sometimes the clubs will sell off their old targets. Thats how we got most of ours. Cause I agree, those thing are expensive!
Also by the sounds of it, everybody that responded has a great coarse.

That's a great looking setup you have there! I have wanted to do something like that since I started shooting, but I agree too...those targets are too expensive. I have had two deer targets, but they are not in very good shape anymore. And when it comes time to replace the core that's expensive too. I believe it was a little over $30 to replace the small core on my McKenzie 3D deer target. I've thought about making a course using bag targets...it wouldn't be as fun, but still good practice on a home course.

I have a 25 target range. I use compressed plastic target 12" in diameter.
It is not the same as 3-D targets, but you have a area larger then the 10 ring to shoot at and the target mounts in a wire bracket that sticks in the gound and is easy to move. The great thing is the materials are easy to get and put together.

The club I belong to is 10 min from my house and there are 48 Ames Pillow Targets scattered along a trail through the woods(unmarked). The longest "official" shooting distance is 72yds, however during hours when the general public is restricted from shooting longer shots are available. I sold the business 5 years ago and have no economic interest in it. But, the pillow targets are really easy to carry to the shooting positions and change out when necessary and the stuffing can be reused.
