What is the best string to use?

What is the best string to use. I have the AMS retriever reel and it is time to relace teh string. I ahve had it on there for a couple years now. My buddy has had his on there the same amount of time and his has broke a couple times in the last week, so I figure I need some new stuff as well. What is the best?
