I have a Phenom coming and need some insight into correct arrow spine. I will be shooting at 56# DW and 27.5" DL at 27" carbon to carbon with GT Ultralights. OT2 doesn't have any of the 2013 bows in it's data base yet so I chose the 2012 Supra ME which is very close to the specs on the Phenom. When I put the Ultralight 500's in the come out slightly on the stiff side but OT2 shows only 4.96 grns per lb. If I put 400 spine in they are showing super stiff but 5.4 grns per lb. Which spine would be better for 3D.

OT2 has the 2013 database. I downloaded the update a couple of weeks ago.

I just downloaded it. I still find that the GT 400 spine are running a little stiff, but I would rather have a shaft that was on the staff side than to weak.

spine is not important as long as you have enough of it

That's just false. Being over spined can cause flight issues just like being under spined

According to Tim gillingham you tune the bow to the arrow not the other way around. That front of center is more important than spine. A lot of shooters shoot stiff spines, look at all gold tips top shooters their arrows are probably overs pined so,ewhat but they are still successful. I'm not talking extremes either.

As far as the op, I would say 400 would do better for you.

A 400 with a 100gr point should be spot on, thats what I shot last year with a Supra ME. I tuned a 500 also but the 400 was much better down range.
