: What is the reason for two flex guard positions on the riser?

Is it for more clearance on larger diameter shafts or taller fletching? Curious...

My guess is you can raise it to accommodate for different styles of rest.

beav and ontarget are correct. Ideally designed for the lower position but PSE discovered the lower position was not compatible with all arrow rests, especially those with micro adjustment knobs on top of the rest, so they added the upper mounting position. My son's Pro 3D was one of the original cut risers and only has the lower mount, but fortunately a TT SS1 still fits under the flex guard with no issues.
