Just got a deal on a 2009 Iceman 50-60# right handed fully set up. Was shooting it a bit in the back yard. Not a bad little bow,so far its quiet and smooth . Little on the heavy side but it will be a good back up bow.. The idler wheel's groove seems a little shallow but... Anyone else have one of these bows? thoughts ? likes or dislikes? thanks..

I also have an 09 Iceman and I really enjoy that bow. To me it is rock solid and out of all the bows I have it would be the last one I would sale if I had to. I did some trading around and also have 2 Mathews bows and 2 Hoyt bows, so that is how much I think of that little bow. String loaded up 26" dl and 60# dw shoots my 360 gr arrow 250 fps.

I'm just trying to help. Right now on the general thread there is so much negativity there it can make one sick. The idler wheels depth seems to be about the same on my Z7, CRX 32 w/RKT cams and vector turbo as is compared to the Ice Man. I have no tools to measure just sight and feel.

the iceman is very under rated and a great bow. i sold mine to buy a pse drive which i love but you cant go wrong with a diamond.

I had a 2009 iceman that I purchased new...just sold it this spring. That's an awesome bow, wish I would kept it to be honest! I like the bow I replaced it with even better, but only because its a little faster and longer A-A, so it's a little better 3D bow. I harvested plenty of deer with my iceman though, and it was silly smooth to draw and shoot!

2010 here and one of the quietest bows there is. replaced the stock sts with a limbsaver, can't get parts here, Bowtech will not deal with a customer and the closest shop is a 6hr turnaround. Have 1,000s of shots on mine and shoot it turned down to 52lbs, old and weak. Wish it did not have the FLX. Just put third string on it and it will stack them out to 40+ yards just fine.

Diamond has replaced the idler wheel on the Outlaw for that reason. I dont know about your bow though. I'll post some pics of my new idler wheel. I had to go through my shop, Bowtech wont deal with the public. Be careful, you can de-rail it if your form isnt perfect. good luck & PM me if you have questions.

Im curious if I should get ahold of a dealer and see if I can get a new idler. My idler is no where near as deep..

I just bought a new Outlaw from Bass Pro and didn't realize the issue with the shallow idler wheel. Mine had it. I returned it to Bass Pro and they exchanged the entire bow for me. I easily had over 500 shots through it in the month I had it and didn't have a problem. However seeing I had just purchased it I expect to have the latest and greatest version. And as "Murphy's Law" goes...I would probably have a problem at the most critical time...during a hunt! I didn't want to chance it.

It wouldn't hurt to contact a dealer and see what they say and see what the cost would be. I can't imagine it would be more than $50 or so. Better to be safe than sorry!!!

Good luck.

my buddy has a 09 iceman, ive built strings for it since he bought it and tune up each year, no issues at all with idler.

they are pretty solid good bows, ya lil heavy for me.... but they can shoot no problem....
