Here is a link to a website that describes what combat medal winners have done and the awards they have recieved. A lot more than kerry's three purple hearts.

Again, where do we find such men!!!!!

John Kerry put his life on the line for this country. Bush had his well-connected poppy get him no fewer than five deferrments to avoid active duty so he could stay safe and snug swilling gin and snorting coke and thumbing his nose at all that is PATRIOTIC.

Obviously, we won't find such men within the likes of yourself. Happy new Year!:thumbs_do

So true I would never claim a purple heart for a self-inflicted wound. However he did do a great service by getting out of a combat leadership role.

And why do bring up Bush?? Do you have an autographed copy of Mary Mape's book?

Happy New Year and best wishes my friend.:thumbs_ up

What a great country America! If all that was true, this certainly is the land of oppertunity. The gentleman You attempt to describe above happens to be the President of The united States.
I guess if all that was true, I might actually have a shot..

Happy new year to You also friend, and next week, walk into work and shake everyones hand, ask if anyone needs Your help. Stay a little late, and come in a little early. Work a little harder and fill in for someone You dont care about. If You do that everyday for a few weeks, I bet You will be able to remove the underpaid statement from Your profile.
You see half of life is what You make of it and how much You enjoy it..

1. It's quite true.
2. You're typing too fast.

more unionista nonsense. Kerry applied for a deferment-it was denied. He joined the navy figuring it would be safe (it normally was, other than pilots and Seals and other type operatives, the Navy was safe, less than 2000 of the 60,000 or so KIA's were navy). Kerry spent one tour offshore and safe but wanted to get "combat service" SB was combat service but when he joined it was safe-coastal patrol against a non existant NVA navy. AFTER HE JOINED Zumwalt changed SB duties to the far more hazardous in country river patrol. KERRY complained about this and said it was unfair.

he used three bandaids to leave

hardly the hero some make him out to be

So what does this mean exactly, Mr. JimC, considering the fact that Kerry was physically present in Viet Nam, and dumya used his poppy's influence to dodge active service and avoid any real service to this nations military?

1) did you vote (assuming you were old enough) for a real draft dodger when he ran against a guy who had the Nation's second highest military award? How about when he ran against a guy who got multiple purple hearts and bronze stars and almost died fighting the nazis? Or did you believe John Kerry when he said MILITARY SERVICE DOESN'T MATTER when JFK s upported CLinton in 92.

2) many people served-less than 10% saw real combat duy in the nam. was the guy loading bombs or machine gun rounds on John McCain's plane a coward or less a serviceman than McCain? how about a guy who flew his missions but never got shot down or maybe even shot at? how about SEALS and Rangers sent to Korea or Germany rather than the Nam? flying jets is never safe btw

you appear to be a BUsh hater and grab on this thinnest of branches not because you really care about who served where but because you are a unionista who is upset that Bush doesn't kiss the butt of unions like CLinton did and you blame your "underpaid" status on Bush rather than your own initiative or ambition.

DL: Don't bring yellow belly, combat dodging, lying, traitorous, POW degrading Kerry's name into ANY conversation concerning real combat soldiers. I took two wounds of minor nature and rejected properly earned purple hearts because I felt it would degrade those who were more seriously injured. Kerry faked three of them to escape the combat theater so he could return safely home and back stab those who stayed.

You, dear sir, are bordering on traitorous acts in my eyes when you even consider Kerry as a military personnage.

Nothing is more traitorous than using deception to wage war.
Then cutting funding for veterans to pay for tax cuts for the wealthy.

I would never have posted here if not for the spin done on JK who served this nation in overseas combat. He was there. Bush got an influenced pass. As the current CIC, he is more of a disgrace to our men and women in uniform than JK could ever hope to be.

the wealthy pay most of the taxes-why shouldn't they get a tax break

why should people who earn 22% of the income pay close to 40% of the income tax? why should 50% of the country pay less than 5% of the total tax burden-and when you factor out the top quarter of that group it means that more than a third of the people pay zippo

I'm not union. Even discussing going union where I work will see you escorted out the door. I saw $10 million of work leave our shop and go to China this year alone. Very few care about 'Made in the USA' anymore, least of all corporate CEOs and managers whose bonuses rely on cutting costs. Maybe you oughta join the Chinese Communist Party Mr. C. They hold the IOUs on our national debt and own the factories sucking jobs from the USA. Don't that just make ya proud to be a blue collar American? Oh, sorry. I forgot. yew gots a edicashun.

And I got a buddy who has some prime tropical beachfront property in South Dakota who really, REALLY wants to talk to you!

Because of GOP sponsored loopholes, the wealthy pay a much smaller percentage of taxes in proportion to income than the working class who do the work to generate the goods that fuel the economy.
