I really want to take my son fishing. But, I have no access to any private lakes/ponds. And with no boat, the fishing at some of the public locations is not great.

We had a great place up until about 5 years ago. A good size pond right between Moore/Norman. But some guy bought the land and shut off the pay for fish access.. :thumbs_do

Does anyone have suggestions on a good place or two that you could take kids to without a boat? At this point I'm mostly interested in catfish, crappie or just anything with a bobber :) . Not sure I'm ready to hook him up with my flippin' stick yet..

Thanks!

Hefner is rated as a good catfish lake in the latest Oklahoma Game and Fish mag. You might want to pick one up as they are rating alot of lakes in your area that I think would be within driving distance from your location. Also I use the fishing report on the ODWC website. As far a crappie fishing I would say Eufaula would be hard to beat
Hope this helps and definetly take the kids fishing.
