Any diehard musky fisherman here? How's your season going so far?

I used to be die hard for sure! I own a fishing/archery store, and I notice that the older folks get, the more they change species wise! Young guns prefer the "Ski's", once they hit the 40 mark (like myself) they prefer the walleye, bass, trout fishing...at 55 or so, they are pretty much pan fishermen. If you love your ski'ing, better do it while you still want to. It will change!

There was a time where cigarettes would burn out in my mouth being so intent on chucking wood! I used to lay approx 30 muskies a year in the boat...with my best, hooking up on 9 ski's in 1 day. Sadly I only boated 2!! What a wild day that was. Them ski's were tail walking like largemouths...pretty damn cool!

hoyto8 I see your from Tomah, I just shot a 3d tourney last weekend. I guided in Minocqua, ST.Germain, Lake Tomahawk areas mainly, but dabbled in just about every county in northern WI. The farthest west I fished would be the pike-round chain along with a handfull of others in that area, thats not to far from you. Send me a pm with the lakes you fish and I'll see if I can help you out..

Hello my name is Vince and I'm a muskie addict.:embara:

My muskie tackle box weighs almost 60lbs:embara:

I have more in muskie equipment dollar wise than I have in archery and for those who know me, that means I spend to much money on a sport that counts follows.

My credit card # is on permanent file at Rollie & Helen's Muskie Shop and also at Thorne Bros.

I bought a house on a lake that is 30 miles from Mille Lacs and 25 miles from Leech.

Will be hunting muskies in 1.5 weeks. Yes I hunt muskies.

Pick me! Pick me!

I will FINALLY be making my first trip tomorrow morning. Launch 2 blocks away on Cooks Bay, Lake Minnetonka.

Been too darn busy this year with the house and cabin to get out bass and ski fishing.

That stuff is pretty much caught up now.

Lake Minnetonka, Waconia, and Independance are the ones I hit most. Plenty of 40-48" fish and a good amount of 50" and over.

Like to try Lake Millacs this year.

Personnal best is a Tonka 49"er.

I'll get a 50+ this year.:ROFLMAO:

40 lber!! WHOOOOOOWEEE!

last I saw a fish that big a chick in a wetsuit was riding it:wink:

I need a boat or a buddy....I can chuck wood and flail water and heck I even know how to tie a knot AND use my drag!LOL!!

Lake St Clair is supposed to be good and I did a charter once but the guy was a flaming dick. Kinda turned me off. 2 smallmouth for an 8hr fishing trip?

I coulda done better from the shore.

Need to find a spot or something.

That's more like "hunting" for fish than fishing...daddy like:tongue:

I used to fish for other species, till i moved to Bemidji for school. Now my schedule goes as follows (summer) fish, work, fish, sleep, repeat. (fall) Fish, school, work, fish, sleep, repeat. Biggest to date was a 53incher didnt weigh her but the weight calculator said she should have been just a touch above 40lbs. Pics are here http://bemidjistate.facebook.com/album.php?aid=2001513&page=1&id=136901748

Little wolf is a great lake to catch a few fish. We usually get one or two every time we go there. Biggest outta there is only 44" though. I actually live on lake plantanganette, on the west side and usually fish every day. Fishing has been pretty good this year. Eventhough i had a bad spell for 2 days. I had three fish to the boat that all came un-hooked. Two were smaller fish, lower forties. One was pretty big though, pry a 48 give or take. Here are a couple of pics of the fish weve got outta plantan. The night one is a 50" and the one during the day is a 53"
