My biggest catch to date is a 25 lb. Flathead Catfish. Caugh it on a St. Croix 5'6" Ultra Light with 4 lb. test jigging for smallies lol. Needless to say it was a heck of a battle.

Second biggest catch is a 20 lb. carp, caught on the same exact set up as above. Hooked it while trying to catch some bait for lunge fishing and an hour later I landed the beast.

A 30" carp caught on an 8wt flyrod. I needed to find out if the old glass rod I picked up at an auction for pennies would hold up to a good fight or if the fiberglass was shot, so I took it to a local lake where I know of a mulberry tree overhanging the water. I hooked a berry and dropped it in the water amoung the dozen or so feasting carp and waited about 3 seconds. That fish took me well into the backing twice and it took 20 minutes to land that beast. I decided the rod was sound and proceeded to rebuild it completely, and it is still one of my favorites. I came away with a new respect for carp as gamefish...

7'9'' Sturgeon in the snake river below CJ Strike dam on pickled trout.

...and i dont want to come across as an ass hole but i dont think that a 6'8'' sturgeon weighs 300lbs...unless it's freakishly and unnaturally obease.

This is a King landed on an 8wt and a Black Crystal Bugger a couple years ago, Salmon River NY.

If I remember it was 45"?? and I didn't have a scale handy to weigh but I would say 30lbs+

Landed about a dozen that day on the fly rod but this was the biggest. There was one larger that a buddy swatted off by accident with the net.
The net we had was like trying to stuff a 10lb balogna into a 5lb bag.

We don't get up there much but it's fun when we do.

having grown up in arizona i was a bass and cat fisherman for years here are my biggest in az before i moved

5 60lb flats at bartlett lake
6 50lb 11 45 lb flats at all the lakes on the salt river
many many channels from ten to 30 lbs around the state

and the one i wish i had done different was a 17.5 lb 30 inch largemouth bass out of kiwanis park lake in august on a black and gold rapala but i thought the record was 19lbs not 16

and me and a few freinds in a two week span broke and set the state record 19 times on grass carp then some fool beats us at encanto

since i got to colorado i have had 2 trout over 5 lbs and a wiper at five pounds and have found my new favorite sprot fish
