I found a '04 model clearshot with the small platform yesterday with a good price tag, just wondering if anyone uses the smaller platform made by summit? Do you notice the size?

I use one. It is a smaller platform but I'm a smaller guy.
Previously I used an older Loggy that doesn't have the bigger platform.
I like the ClearShot because it doesn't have a rail or seat frame in the way.
I believe Summit has stopped making this stand. The replacement appears the OpenShot.

I also have the Clearshot with the smaller platform. I like it because the smaller profile packs thru the woods better for me. I also held it platform-to- platform against my LW Alpha hang-on and they're very similar in size. I clamped on a footrest from another stand I had to improve the comfort level for longer sits. I also put on the "bungee climbing system" that Sqrlman recommended (see link below) to get rid of the cumbersome/awkward boot straps because the climbing stirrups do not work on this stand (they do on the larger platform model); this clears-up the platform area.
