right now i have about 3 inches of arrow(30 inch arrow) past my rest and was wondering if there any reasons not to cutr them down, once i heard longer the arrow the better for tuning and more srtable flight but some arrow companys table show if i shorten it i can go to a 400 spine and not the heavy 300. i am shooting 70 lbs out of a trykon drop away rest.
any info pros and cons would be great.

I use a QAD Ultra rest and they say your arrows should extend at least 1 to1.5 in. past the rest.

my spine was too weak on mine... so I went to the shortest I could shoot... thats about 1/2" from the WB to the insert. it cant come back any further - so i dont see where it could hurt anything being that close.

I prefer 1.5 inches not counting the tip of course, some guys cutter down to the nub.
