20yards, indoor, w/ compound what kind of speed?

Now I'm curious what kind of speed you guys are getting with those big fat arrows using 150+ gr points.

In indoors no one cares about speed it is a matter of shooting a 300. Since there is no distance to judge just being accurate is the key. Most people turn there bows down to the 40-50 pound range so that they can hold it steady but to answer your question 190fps with 2413 aluminums.

I'm so used to everyone wanting speed that when ontarget calculated my speed at 210 with X7s I thought that scared me for a sec. So for once I will completely ignore speed when looking at different configs.

If you're shooting over 200 fps with big ole' fat aluminums and 150+ grain points, your setup is "throwing smoke." I'm shooting roughly 400 grain arrows out of a recurve at around 172ish. If you're using 2315's or something around that thickness, with 150 grain points, I'll bet your arrows are past 500 grains.

I'll say this much: those pesky moving spots will stop moving around once you anchor them in place with 3 X's. :D

I'm using a compound, not shooting X7s yet, but I'm leaning towards them since they are cheaper than fatboys and xcutters.

For a FITA 18m indoor round the maximum aluminum arrow size allowed is a 2315. The maximum diameter allowed is 9.3mm.

:eek: Damn, wish I had a bit of that speed on the recurve, less time on the string, less time for me to influence the shot. I'm sure my outdoor ACE's don't move that fast. Gotta love the compounds, they sure smoke.

Indoor: Hoyt GM 68 inch bow at 45LBS 28 inch draw 2114 X7 with loaded NIBB points. I spent an evening with the grain scale and solder. The points weigh 163 grains. 497 grains total arrow weight. 192 FPS

Outdoor target Hoyt Axis 66 inch bow 45LBS 28 inch draw 620 ACE with 100 grain points. 204 FPS

Field Hoyt Axis 66 inch bow 45LBS 28 inch 670 ACE with 85 grain points. 218 FPS

im not shooting fatboys indoors. i shoot my outdoor setup which is X tens, but i get 216 fps out of my recurve.
my X tens weight 347 gr including the 110gr tip.

I got about 220 with my old bow, mathews classic 52lbs, x7 2212 3" feather.

I expect to get about 230-240 with my apex, 58 lbs, x7 2314 with 3' feather, ACE's came out at 283fps

All have 100grn. points

I am shooting easton x7's in the 2613 shaft size that weigh in at 526-527 depending on arrow. I shoot em off of an 03 bowtech extreme and they fly at around 244 fps. now i still shoot 52 pounds indoor but they fly nice and keep inside the ten most of the time.
