Was merely a pun and was not meant in anyway to cause trouble. I never thought it would and if I did would not have posted it.
I personally believe that trespassing is a crime and should be punished. Tresspassing is so rampant how do you enforce it besides shooting the trespasser or driving the DNR Police nuts? What happens if you shoot him and just wound him? Wouldn't you be afraid he would come back one night and harm you in return? What would happen if you killed him, maybe his family would come back and harm you.
To even suggest shooting another man to me is worse than the trespassing crime itself. What land owners have to come to terms with, is its only by Gods grace you even have that much land, which you should be very thankful for. But the down side to having that much land is you have to deal with trespassers legally, and the law says you can't shoot them. The idea that a man's home is his castle and the Land therein went out in the mid 50's. Some trespassers have hunted Land long before particular landowners purchased it, they feel its their land to hunt no matter what.
So you finally have someone arrested, he goes before the Judge. He either recieves a slap on the wrist and a fine or hard time and a fine, either way its a sure bet sooner or later he will get even. Is it really worth all that to you?
I feel the best approach is to confront them in a friendly manner and work something out. a mutual solution. Or sell your land, buy a rocket ship, fly to the moon so where you won't have to deal will your brother taking game on your property. Thats just my opinion, for what its worth.:ranger:

they make paintball claymores. id like to put permanet dye in them and paint them bright red. the only problem is it wouldnt be fair to the deer. if they want to hunt my land let them pay the taxes.
As you can see from the replies in that thread. Theres nothing funny about tresspassing. And very often leads to violent confrontations where all hunters get a bad rap. It all goes back to right and wrong. Because somebody hunted some land gives them NO RIGHT to it, even if the same land owner changes his mind to let them hunt it.
Many people lease land or buy land for the sole purpose of hunting, guess what brother, it ain't cheap to buy or lease. Then that person puts in a lot more money and time all to have some fool or fools ruin it for him. I think tresspassers should be dealt with severly to say the least. It's bad when a land owner or leaser has to wear hunter orange on his property for fear some tresspasser is gonna shoot at anything moving, get my drift. What I think would be fair in my case if I caught a tresspasser, would be to let him run towards the fence with my bulldog gnawing on em all the way. I bet next time they would respect the no tresspassing sign.

so what your saying is that if you work all your life to buy a house with a nice yard and a pool etc. and down the street from you is a public park with a pool etc. but two scum bags you never met decide to jump over your fence with a case of beer use you pool than knock on your door because they want to order a pizza. youll tell them no problem i dont want you to get back at me later.RIGHT.
RESPECT is what it is all About Some Miss the Point!!!
It is funny how some seem to do it and think nothing of it... A friend and his family had some private property that had been in the family for 25 years. Someone buys a lot next to it because it has woods and good hunting and just assume that it is theirs and start hunting it. They see them on it and tell them that it is not theirs and request them to leave. Because they live about 1.5 hours away these people continue to hunt it. They put up two ladder stands and seem to think that it will be okay. They again see them on the property and tell them to get off again. And the next time if they see any of their stands on the proprety they will lose them. Sure enough a week later they are back but locked to the tree, so they cut the locks off and put them in their car and drive off when they leave. They had some ground blinds build out of trees and stuff and they came back and found them trashed. They know who did it but again some just have not understanding or respecting others property...
I have something similar but I have ATVers cutting across my property, but it is 3.25 hours to get there. They cut across the ferns that are 3 ft tall knock the down so you know, and no one I know has an ATV and has access, andso they come in from the north the owner north of me is not there either. They come from the trailer park just north and west of us about 1 mile away. They just think that it is their play ground and they will use it because no one is there to tell them otherwise. Yet when they see you they run off because they know they are TRESPASSING. If you put out anything to give them a flat tire they will just come back and trash whatever you have so it is just best to try and run them off and hope that there is no retalliation for it so far none but seems those that don't understand what we pay for the property is a lot and we continue to have to pay taxes on it and then we got those that have no respect for others... I am not saying all ATVer's do this but then I hear some talk about their trip and cut across others property as a short cut and think it is okay. If they can afford an ATV then maybe they should put out the hard earned money for their own piece of property and maybe they might get the message... The biggest problem is most states have no penalty for them except a ticket which is nothing big just maybe 100.00 which they spend on beer in a month... Just seems if those would respect others it would be even better out there...
But then again drive through the federal forest and see what some leave out there... trash, beer cans, sofas, tires, engine blocks just about anything they no longer want or have a place to store it...gets tossed out there. Seems it only takes one to wreck it for the rest of us!!!
