It seems like we have a number of folks getting their first archery deer this season.
I'm one that did, with the help, and support of BDhntr, and Igluit4u.
Who else. Let's see how many folks here broke the ice this season.
I've been bowhunting for three years now and got my first one about a month ago - a nice sized doe weighing abt 145 on the hoof and 115 field dressed. What a rush...
I got my first a few weeks ago. Nice little six point. Spined it, which made it easy to track but didn't put it down quickly. Had to cous de gras with a pistol. .
I have had a couple of close calls since. I have to say I haven't take a rifle out but once this year. Bowhunting is much more intense.
Shot a doe @7yards 2 weeks before this 12-point walked past me in the same stand @13yards. Not a monster but going on my wall. After 5 years of archery these were my first 2
This is my first season hunting deer with a bow.
I got one a few Saturdays ago. Everything worked out great.
A 100# doe and I butchered and processed it myself. Oh yeah, Those steaks are great tasting. I'm working on getting the kid I've been taking hunting his first with a bow. no luck yet but some close calls for him.
i have also been bow hunting 3 years and finally got my first deer with a bow about three weeks ago. what a rush . dont even care if iever use my muzzel loader again.
Got my first with a bow this year. Jus a nubbin head but i hunted with my bow 2 or 3 times last year so this was my first year and got one after about a month of huntin. I wish i had the luck my cousin does. He got a bow in mud august and practiced with it for a while and on october 1st our opener he got the biggest deer he has ever shot and the biggest shot in the county. First time bow huntin for him. It is a 140-150s deer which is huge for our part of arkansas
Got my bow from my fiance for Christmas and started practicing right away and got my first whitetail in October. This was my first year ever hunting and I am hooked!
Was able to fill my first archery tag this year, shot a nice whitetail doe at
25 yds. found her 65yds later. This was my 2nd year.
Also, my first post but have been learning from all the great advice on here!
Just wanted to say thanks to all the people that take the time to make this
site work so well.
I got my bow for xmas last year also so this was my first year hunting with it. I have taken 3 does and an 8 point buck. Spent the summer scouting, doing food plots, cutting lanes.....all from info gained here. Man was it worth it!! I shot a doe with my rifle this year and it was "ok" but not near the rush of bowhunting.
Also got a turkey. Now it is time to get ready for the "second season" here in Missouri.
I had my first archery kill this year! The Ol' Rytera Bullet X, and the Muzzy did the job. 2nd year of hardcore bowhunting and it alll payed off the 2nd weekend of bow this year.
1st year bowhunting, and i got my first about 4 weeks into season...i couldnt be happier
