I hunt near Guernsey county. Its hilly there so bring a compass or you may get lost. Ton of deer in southern ohio. Some of the best hunting youll ever see.
We hunt turkeys about 30 mins south of Cambridge, and to be 100% honest, we don't see many deer down that way. And I have no idea why. Matter of fact, last year in 3 days of hunting I saw ZERO deer. But that could be the specific area that we hunt. Birds up the Yin Yang though!
BUT, according to the DNR statistics, it is an excellent choice for deers. You can check out the numbers on the DNR site for every county's harvest in the state last year.
If it were me, I'd go if I was from out of state.
I would say anywhere but NW Ohio-we really don't have much good hunting up here.
Oh ya-it's HILLY down there! Make sure you are in decent shape.
