When its to cold up here in Bemidji to bow hunt or if its after the 31st of december, I can only be found in the ice. Heck I even had a pizza place that had my address for delivery as: Blue ice house w. number so and so on the side, call before delivery hahaha.... I must spend to much time out there. I dont have any pics of this year yet, but heres a few from last year:
1st pic: Red Lake 14 incher
2nd pic: Bluegill from a private lake in the Bemidji Mn area
3rd pic: A pike that ate one of our crappies when it was in the sled of my ice house hahaha
4th pic: A true 11" blue gill

I love ice fishing! I just wish it would get cold enough for us to get some ice around here!! Darned freakish weather.

I have to scan some pics, but I have a LOT of them. Everything from bluegill to pike. I cannot think of a better way to spend a winter day than pulling fish through a hole in the ice. I simply love it.

Amen, I am waiting patiently for some ice. I am starting to believe this year in WNY will be like last year....

And why do I say this? Because I have this curse on me.... Everytime I get a new toy to enjoy fishing, any fishing, I end up getting the shaft.

LIke when I bought my first boat in 1992..... ENded up being the most miserable summer I have ever seen. Rained all summer long. Could have been just as dry clamping my fishing pole between my teeth and swimming to my spots.

Last year, for Christmas, I got a Vexilar fish finder..... Got to use it 3 times

THis year, I got a surprise.... An Aqua View Underwater Camera System..... No sign of arctic weather through January 6, thus far.... But, duck season is now open and the birds like it better when the water is not yet froze up....

Man I like ice fishing as much as I like bowhunting. We had a great season here in IOWA this year. We 16"+ of ice in most places. That is way thicker than the normal 8" we usually get. It made the hand auger a chore!

I finally got to use my new Vexilar this season which is awsome. If you don't have one you need to look into it! I bought in new in Dec of 05 but we had no fishible ice in 05-06 so I had to wait til Jan 07 to use it.

16" of ice is a easy nice to have. A hard time augering is when you have 36" and you have to drill for a tournament. We had an extention and had to have 2 guys to drill the holes. The first guy stood on the back of the truck with the extention and the second guy took over when the auger got down to him.

I was up in Otter Tail county last summer doing some fishing with the inlaws. We fished East and West Leaf Lakes mostly.
