the only info i have so far, is from the bowyers bible series of three books. but there is not a lot on bamboo a very small amount on bows, and some info on backing bows with it. there is however a picture of a bamboo bow that has a silk cable, running from end to end.
i have started tillering a length of bamboo, it is just over 6feet in lenght. at the moment i'm just takeing out the concave inner side, i'm doing it with a scraper made from a ground up plane blade. i realy need to sort out a string so i can tiller it properly, and also a tillering stick.

go to primitivecrcher.com, sign up (it's free) and ask them. those guys are BRILLIANT when it comes to building bows (and only a little obsessed:shade:). but be warned, opnce you start building bows, you might get hooked.
