On average how many broadhead blades are you using from stickbows?

I have always used 4bl heads on my recurves and believe they cut larger, cleaner holes in the animals and leave more blood on the ground as well as shorter blood trails then shooting 2bl heads. With enough arrow weight, they penetrate just fine. For very light setups, then a 2bl may have an advantage, but for me, give me large holes! Mark

I prefer the penetration of a two blade but I like to have some bleeder blades to let more blood hit the ground! Those two blade slits can make for some tough tracking!

i pretty much use montecs for everything, but this fall for moose and brown bear im gonna go 2 blade, looking at either the g5 b-52s, or maybe even trying those silver flames, see what the hell can make a broadhead that darn expensive!!!!

I like and use them all, but find myself shooting 2 blades the vast majority of the time.

I agree. It really depends on the animal. I choose 4 Blade, because I hunt mostly Whitetails, which generally do not have any question about penetration. However, if my shot is slightly somewhat less than optimal... I want a blade that will cut the most, particularily lung, liver and heart area. For thicker skinned animals... I would use a two blade.

i like the zwickey eskimos, but i can see the sense in a three blade head like the ma-3 for droppong deer quicker, and not having to track it as far. but i have zwickeys, and i love consistency!

I use Bear Razors 99% of the time but I have used 3 blade thunderheads a couple of times.
They both work just fine but I prefer the Bears.

Had a pretty big TN whitetail fall within sight when hit in one lung with a 2 blade. Had a pretty small GA hog keep on going with a lung hit from a 3 blade (two others hunting with me shot him also, with 2 blade heads, before he went down and stayed down).

For me, it depends on the critter and the mood I'm in. Either one will do the job if I do my part.
