Anybody ice fishing yet in Southeastern IN? How thick is the ice?

I was told 5- 6 inches up here in Orleans. But like I said, that is what I was told.

I'm about a half an hour East of Greensburg.

Went out today for the 1st time this season. Ice was 6-8" thick. Bite wasn't too good, but did catch 9 between two of us.

GOOD Ice everywhere in the small ponds i am going too Lake Monroe. Called the Fishin shed and they say good ice in select areas. I will let you know going too catch some Crappies I hope, mabe a few rogue Stripers. I will let you guys know what's up. Tip-up's High and tight lines All

What is the fishing like in IN around April? I will be in Michigan City and I was thinking about getting a guide... Any ideas?
