Hi, I'm new at this, but I think my Martin has a little trouble with cam timing. It looks to me like the idler wheel has lean on it, leaning to the left. See pic: http://i54.photobucket.com/albums/g102/rain164845/M-pro004.jpg
Should I twist the right yoke cable to fix this? It is worse when I draw.

In addition, it feels like my draw length on the bow has grown. Is my cam overrotated in the resting position? http://i54.photobucket.com/albums/g102/rain164845/M-pro006.jpg

Should I twist the yoke cables around each other to fix this?
I appreciate your help, my groups have fallen off lately...
Thanks,
Joe

Twist the yoke , it wont take but 2-3 twists. That should take care of that. Here is a very informative post , also the vipro cam is the same , just looks a little different .

Looks like you string has setteled in , and it needs a few twists.

In all my shooting the Vipro and M-Pro cam I would say your string it short in that picture (unless you have the string on the short posts)..... You want the string about 1/4" max from the end of the string groove.... Looks like you have over 1/2" of space....

I thought you had it right the first time:confused:

I was told that proper cam rotation would have the string coming off the cam about 1/4-1/2" from the end of the string slot.

As far as the yoke, if you can, take some out of the short side and put some into the long side. I tend to try and make smaller adjustments on both sides until the lean is corrected.

It seems like I should/could take the yoke strings and twist them around each other to rotate the cam without affecting my ATA length. Should I do this in addition to untwisting my string? You guys know a lot more about tuning bows than I do! I'm just asking because it seems like balancing these 2 strings would keep the bow tuned more like it is supposed to be.

I do understand about straightening my leaning idler wheel by untwisting one side of the yoke, and twisting the other side. This is a separate issue than adjusting the groove in the cam (timing).

Am I looking at things correctly? I'm sure I'll have to explain all this to the bow tech who tunes by eyeballing everything...:embara: It is just about the only archery shop around here... I think I may save my time and just buy a portable bow press off of the internet.

Thanks!
Joe

p.s. when I untwist my string do I just do that from one end, or do I do that a few twists from one end, and a few from the other?

It seems to me like the string would have stretched instead of shrunken? It seems like when the bow was new, I didn't have as much space. Would changing the modules change this space?

to piggy-back on this one...i had almost the exact same issues with my pantera with m-pro cams. i straightened almost all the cam lean out by twisting the yoke cable a full twist. then i focused on the rotation/timing issue and i put a full twist on the cable and took a twist out of the string. i don't notice a difference on the string position as it comes off the cam...i did notice that the backwall on my draw got real spongy (used to feel fairly solid) and when i drew back too far, my drop away started to drop???

any ideas? i really shouldn't mess with a pretty good thing so close to season, eh?

No, the module should not effect that distance. I think if you twist up your cable a little, that string may come in to where it belongs.
