Hello all, i thought that i would share how i have made a sts for my bow. The materials you need are a threaded cobra replacement cable guard and a bowjax knuckle saver. You simply screw in the cable guard into the rear hole by your stabilizer. Make sure you do not scre it in quite all the way. Then you mark where the cable guard hits the string. After you have marked where the cabelguard hits the string you cut the cable guard and round the edges. Once the edges are rounded you put the Bowjax knuckle saver on the end. After the bowjax is installed you screw it into the riser by using the threads to get it in the proper position against the string. Once it is in the proper position tighten the nut on the cable guard against your riser and you are done. I have enclosed a link to a site where thes 2 items are available and also included a picture of my "home-made one" thanks to all and i hope this would be of a help to someone. Good luck......Happy hunting. James

Well, 129 reviews not 1 reply. Is anyone going to try it? Even consider it?

If I hadnt already bought mine I would definitely give yours a try.

Thanks for posting your idea! Will definitely save some people some money if they want a black one.

I think you are onto a great Idea!

My only hesitation would be the nuckle saver, thats it's not as thick as the original or newer style. Keep an eye on it, hate to see you damage the string or worse. Otherwise, good work. :thumbs_up

What he said. You can get the real thing from coolhandluke (the guy that makes ones like yours and sells on here) for like $5 instead of using the knuckle saver. I don't know or remember what he charges for the whole set up.

It looks good man. I think I am going to try and find one in the clearance box at a shop and give it a shot.

You might be treading in dangerous waters. I'd get a thicker model.
The preceding is based on hearsay only, and you only get what you paid for with my opinion....

I wonder if those cable guards (illustrated on the Keystone catalogue page) would screw into the rear guard hole on a Diamond Liberty?

If so, I'm well on my way to an STS!
