My wife just bought a new Diamond Edge 54lb pull 26in draw. We had true glow sights, a whisker bisket, and a D loop on it. Had some carbon express arrows cut to length and she or I can get it to shoot a consistent group at 20yds. The best we can get out of it is about a 6-8in group. What is the first thing I should look at checking?

Is she having any arrow flight problems? Porpoising or fishtailing?

Check your rest location up down and side to side and look for vane contact if you are using high profile vanes.

I'd be looking for fletching contact, too. Either that or the consistency of the shooters---not bashing. Here's why. A bow is just a machine. Stick it in a shooting machine and pick a set of matched arrow and it will put them in the same hole time after time. The arrows don't even have to be spined properly for the bow nor does the bow have to be tuned. It's just the fact that it will do the same thing shot after shot.

SO,, either there is fletching contact of some sort or the "shooting machine" isn't being consistent. One reason I mention the shooter is because it is more critical to follow through after the shot when using any full contaiment rest like the Whisker Bisquit. It's a good rest, but you must be aware of this.

Please let us know if you find out anything different.

To thosethat say to look for fletching contact WELL DUH IF YOU LOOKED HE SAID THAT THE BOW HAS A WISKER BIBCUT. The first thing that I would do is get rid of the wisker biscut. It is one of the most unforgiving rests out there. your problems are probably caused by it and your form. just because a pro shot set it up doesn't mean it was done rite.

Can't imagine how they sell them. I use a whisker biscuit and I certainly don't have the problems Missouribowhunter describes.

oldglorynewbie Well so far this year I have gotten 2 shooters at my club to get rid of it and they both have much smaller groups now. Neither can shoot groups at 20 yards (robinhoods) 1 is shooting 4 inch groups at 60 yards the other (former trad. shooter been shooting compounds for 1 month) is shooting 4 inch at 50 yards. Both agree the WB sucks 1 threw it away wouldn't sell it. the other you could buy real cheap.

:focus:Missouribowhunter sorry for hijacking your thread I should have just done this :zip: before I typed my last post. Sounds like bfisher will put you on the right track. Let us know how your wife is doing.

First of all Tom Miranda uses a WB...there is nothing wrong with it. Second if you are using blazer vanes you must get an after market cable slide so the vanes will clear your cables....THIS MUST BE DONE ON ALL BOWTECH/DIAMOND bows when using blazer vanes. My wife has a diamond edge and even though she is brand new at this she can shoot within 6" at 20 yards and when I shoot her bow I can stack them consistantly.

The top draw stop allen screw was lose the sight had just a little vibration in it and the poundage was upped 2 lbs to match the carbon arrow better and added 1/2 inch to the draw length. And today she is hitting 4in circles at 30yds 2 out of 3 times. and about the same out to 40yds just for fun Thanks all for the help

GLAD TO SEE YOU FIGURED IT OUT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Nothing more frustrating than not understanding the situation.

Glad you figured it out all by yourself. See, you didn't need our help anyway.

I guess we just assume that the shooter has gone over the bow and tightened everything. Mistake on our part.
