View Full Version : Is This a Timing Issue?

My Hoyt Trykon began "creeping" a couple of months ago, meaning that it wants to jump forward when I'm at full draw even though I'm holding it back with about all I have. It was shooting great for months, but then this problem began and now my arrows aren't ending up where they should. Also, I just put on a new string the other day because the original finally wore out. As you might expect, this made the problem worse.
Thoughts, ideas, and answers greatly appreciated!

don't know much about hoyts but sounds like your valley is screwed up . yes a tuning issue . I would look for a shop with a hooter shooter or a drawing board & time your cams . one might me rolling over before the other.. good luck.

Did you also change your cables?
Here's what to do: go to the Hoyt web site and find tuning charts. There find the one for your bow. Bring your string, cables, axle to axle, and brace height back to those specs.
Once you've done that, then time your cams according to the sticky by Javi, Tuning the Cam and 1/2. This should clear your problem.

Sounds like your top cam is under rotated at full draw (amongst other things). Do as Reverend recommends get the bow to spec and time the cams using Javi's sticky.
