Should a peep, for example, a G5 Meta peep or Fletcher Tru Peep, be served in, or should it only be tied in with serving thread around the groove? Or both?

Yes :)
Probably more a personal preference, either,or ,or both are fine.
I tie to the peep and around it myself.
Whatever you do,just want it to stay put!

I used to tie in above and below the peep on my Hoyts. However when I replaced the factory strings with after market, I only needed to tie around the peep. I don't think that you can go wrong with both methods just to be sure.

I was wondering if anyone can show me or has a diagram on how this peep is tied in. Mine is like that now, but the shop that tied it like that closed, and I want to be able to do it myself.

Thanks for that video. Great. Personally I have used those peeps and not tied them and NEVER had them move. I do mark them with white out on the string so I can see IF they DO move. I will start doing this method though. Thanks.

FOR ME.... It's Just the way the serving works best based on the direction the serving is going as it wraps the peep and as it comes off the peep

I've heard that you can use dental floss for tying in a peep. Is this true? :confused2:

Yes you can.. but unless it was an emergency.. it's best to just use some quality serving thread

I've tied about a million with dental floss with 0 problems. That is all that we ever used at the shop that I used to work at. Tough, won't slip and looks clean.
