I got a reflex growler yesterday at cabelas. I shot it today and the sights are as high as they can go but I'm still shooting high. The pin is unusably high and the whole sight is all the way up. any ideas. It is paper tuned.

Your peep sight is to high lower it a little .Best way is to close your eye's and draw come to anchor and see if the peep is aligned with your eye

thank you. I can lower the peep sight. I just have to lose the kisser button. No problem. I'll get used to it.

Check your draw length and make sure it's correct then maybe the peep will line up for you .

What do you mean it wont come down enough? It should come down to the top of the serving if need be you might have to get it pressed to move it farther down and get it rotated right.

Pictures of your form would probably tell us the problem.

Even though it's been paper tuned the nock point may still be too low. Check you nock point. Is the arrow pointed slightly downward. Peep may be too high, it only takes a small movement at the peep to make a big difference.

Don't know what sight you have but there may be a whole section that moves up or down and then you can move the pins to a better location.

Pictures would help. Good luck, George

A picture is worth a thousand words, but to me it sounds like your anchor could be too low. And the reason that you can't move the peep down comfortably is most likely because the draw length is too long--extremely so. And if you use a kisser button it has to be moved the same amount as the peep.

Sometimes you just can't correct problems by moving the peep down. Moving the peep makes you anchor higher, which moves the string up on your face. So if you use a kisser button way back in the corner of the mouth then it's going to be farther back yet--too far. To get these things in the right position may mean you have to shorten the draw length of the bow accordingly. That's one reason most bows are adjustable in the first place.

If you can't post a picture then you need to get into a shop with people who know what they are doing and ASK. The guys at Cabela's may be OK, but thats always an open debate around here.

If you want to see some pictures of how a draw length and peeps and such should look like do a search using "Nuts&Bolts". He posts some very good info almost every day.

Are you shooting fingers? Here is the right anchor position.

it the paralell limbs and my wierd face. I got it shooting ok. But the 1st pin is all the way up which screws up my field of view. Went to a bow shop and they lowered the rest a little and got rid of the kisser. Its barely working but its working. Shooting a release and anchor is good just like the pic. draw length is perfect. Anchor drops right in like a rock. I'll try to find some sights with more adjustment.

Quick question, you're shooting high, when you move the sight up does it bring the arrow down? or does it still shoot in the same place? If, and I mean if, the arrow is still hitting the same spot, my next thought would be that you are starting your aiming process at the bottom of the target and moving up through the x (or the center of whatever type target you are shooting at) and then punching the release. I had an archer I was working with go through the same thing! He came to me for the same reason you have described and I had him draw the bow, come to his anchor point and aim, with his thumb off the release. Then I would trigger the release for him and the first shot was 6" low! The second shot nearly robinhooded the second! This is just a thought, but you may want to try it. Hope this helps!:)
