Bought a bow over a month ago from Hotshot14 and was not until after he recieved the M/O that he said "My Mom will take me to ship it Saturday." Two or three weeks later he said " It's ready to ship but we lost the address". The address has been sent several times but no other response from Hotshot14 in PM or e-mail. If anybody has any dealings with this person, I would suggest COD. Sparks

My bet is, you will not see that money or bow again. He only has 17 post and they all started with selling his so called bow. Sorry for your loss!:thumbs_do

Where is he located and what is his real name?

Maybe someone on here knows him and can help motivate him.

Sorry to here about that Rev. People don't even respect a man of God these days. Just pray that God will change his heart, or this will cost him a whole lot more than what he took from you.

Sorry JLB, the same goes for you. It will cost this Lad in the long run. I know it doesn't bring back your money. But he will do this to someone who will track him down and get it one way or another. If you could only find the town he lives in and contact local law enforcement, maybe they could squeeze him a bit.

If you got his name and number... and he is under age... His parental guardians are responsible for his actions.

If you have the address for him, turn him in for mail fraud?

Wow, time and time again I here of someone getting ripped off via. money order.
Personally I would never send a money order to someone i don't know.
A money order to me , is really the same as sending cash.....just cash it at the local party store and ......see ya.
I had a really good deal on here for a protec and the guy insisted he talk to me on the phone to secure the deal.
Lucky for me I started to get bad vibes from the guy.
He wanted me to wire him the money. When i was reluctant to do this he finally agreed to a postal money order. I decided to can the deal.
I have always used Paypal credit card for purchases on here.
Any real dealer or halfway lagit seller will have this ability. I even had a guy open a pay pal account to sell me a bow. This is really a no brainer, lets face it if your on a computor site you should be able to pay for your item with the computor.
i feel bad for the guy getting ripped off . Especially if he is new to Archery.
Hopefully the mods can do some thing for us here.

Contact Bellows, he's a moderator on here and he might be able to help. Just wondering if you got this guys phone number and if you did have you tried calling him?? If you know his last name try getting the guys number from information or online. Then call his parents. I would basically make his life as dificult and as incomfortable as humanly possible. In times like this go by the adage that if I'm gonna be miserable- there's gonna be a whole lot of misery coming back.

If that don't work Crazy glue in the locks makes you feel better:wink:

i don't like these stories and im still kinda leery about doing some dealing on the computer. i myself did not get a paypal account for i am afraid that i am too much of an archery guru and will end up spending more than i really should. not that i don't do that already but i figure that i will really be in over my head if i do. i hope i never run into any problems. i have been dealing with archery equipment for some time now but i never use the internet because i have heard these stories. the first time i get ripped off though i will for sure be using nothing but paypal if i ever do get ripped off. i just sold a bow on here and am waiting for the payment and i just bought one here. probably will be done dealing on here until target season comes closer then i may need a sight and some arrows but ill be taking it easy on the sales for a while. hope you either get your money or your bow. make it hell on the little punk.

I have had over 30 dealings on ArcherTalk this year and have yet to get scammed...I almost always use paypal or credit card, though...just in case.

did you get any of his info before you sent the MO? tha town, state, real name? I had someone rip me off and I had his name. researched it and found where he lived and contacted the local police and had them fax me a complaint form sent them the money tio file with the court and had an arrest warrant filed and they picked him up and then called me from wisconsin to missouri and I got my stuff back in order for me to drop the charges on him. this worked for me. I hope something in this story helps you. I hate thieves!!!!

A couple of times i went to buy a bow off a new member , and back out because they would not send C.O.D or would not set up a paypal it was not worth the risk, I have bought releases or sight befor but a Bow is just to much money to risk, sometime a GREAT deal is a dead give away !!

I always look at Traderfeedback, join date and other postings the member is invilved in. If they are new with no feedback, I will not buy. Selling is a different animal but I still look at feedback.
