My best vacation ever

I recently returned from a 10-day fishing and camping trip to beautiful Fools Hollow Lake located at Show Low, AZ. The first 5 days spent with just my dad and my son. The last 5 days my brother-in-law and my nephew joined us. We were fishing for trout but didn’t catch any. We talked to the rangers who informed us that the lake had recently been stocked, but due to recent rains and high levels of nutrients in the lake, the fishing was lousy. Still the time spent with dad & my son was priceless. I'll post pic's -- 1st one is our campsite

White Mountains are awesome Dennis!!! We like to fish over at Big Lake on the other side of the reservation. Crescent Lake is nearby and we have done well there too! I used to spend my summers in Pinetop/Lakeside as a teenager, place sure has grown a bunch.

We thought about checking out Big Lake, but my son is asthmatic and was having a little trouble adjusting to the altitude.

I remember going through that when I was a kid in the summer and I didn't have asthma. I can't imagine how hard that must've been for him.

Looks like fishing was a lot of fun, and relaxing!!!! I have to do that with my dad soon. He's not getting any younger! I can't wait for my son to get older so I can take him fishing like that! That time spent together is priceless!



Okay on the sports subject.....I am a huge Brewers fan, so I was bummed about them blowing the division, but I have been a cubs fan since I was old enough to hold a bat. I had a hard time picking a team to root for this year. This year sure made baseball interesting!

Anyway......Keep posting pics.....

That's what made the trip so special, dad is just shy of 76 and I can tell he's really starting to slow down. There may not be another opportunity. Then my son who is 19 with a girlfriend -- I thought he would be bored after a couple of days, but he did well. During the middle of the day the three of us sat around the table played cards & dominos and talked about nothing much in particular. Just a really special time.

Well sorry about your brew crew -- I like them (alot of former D-backs there). I don't think the Cubbies have enough to take out the D-Backs, and both the Phillies & Rockies played some really good ball to close out the season. I expect a lot of good series from the NL. I really don't care about the AL, as long as it isn't the Yankees!

I'll drink to that! Don't like the Yankees but pull for the Red Sox. I love Arizona a bunch and would love to live out there. Thanks for the photos!
