hey guys

currently, i'm pulling about 48 pounds with my recurve, draw length is 27.5.....was thinking of shooting some Easton 2315 arrows due to the weight....think this would be a good idea or should i just shoot the 1816's i have currently...

PS: i'm only shooting aluminum because i shot up all my cedar shaft arrows....

The 2315 would probably be way too stiff.Try one or two sizes stiffer than your 1816 and shoot more point weight to get them back to the right stiffness. That is if you are looking to bump up weight.

i guess i should have explained a little (here at work, so have to be quick.)...my 1816's just fly "crooked" then finally level out, when i was shooting my wooden shafts (heavier) they flew "true" or straight, all the way down the pipe...plus, i'm hunting with these arrows and i'm afraid that the 1816's are just too "skinny"?

LLS -

A 29" 1816 with NIBBs maxes out about #43 for a fast FITA type bow. You might be able to tune them for a #48 by using a lot of offset, but I wouldn't recommend it.

If the arrow length is near 29", think about 1916s for a hunting bow or 1914s for a target bow.

The 2315 are "a bit" too stiff :secret:.

EDIT: OK, your second post cleared things up. This has NOTHING to do with arrow weight or thickness, but everything to do with "spine" or the stiffness of the arrow. The 1816s are too soft (weak) for most bows in your weight range. Moving up to a 1916 will be the safest bet.

Viper1 out.

If you use a 1916,cut it to 28 1/2 with a 125g head, and you will have a 480g arrow that should fly like a dart.
You can't get much closer to 10g per inch than that.

1916's are the arrow you want to shoot.I use them off my 47 and 48 lb's longbows and they shoot great
