What string material is best? It is for making a Flemish string. Thanks.

It will depend on whether or not the bow it is to be put on is fastflite compatable. If you aren't sure dacron can be used on any bow. If it will take a fastflite string, 8125 or dynaflyte 97 are popular choices.

Bow is red oak, 1/2" wide limb tips, 3/8" thick. Should be about 50lbs, about 30.5" draw, how many strands of dacron would I need? Thanks.

I normally use 12-14 of dacron for 50# bows. Depnding on what you are using for limb tip overlay, you might consider padding the string loops as an added precaution.
