Ok boys I've been having some success with bare shaft tuning, as far as nock right and left. I'm working with a Martin X200 45#, and have got a 2016 at full length, with a 125gr field tip hitting the target dang near perfectly.
I think I'm drawing around 42#

My problem is with nock high. I started about 3/4" high and started moving the nock down a little at a time. As I moved the knock down the knock high started coming down but before it got to to point of going in straight, it started moving knock high again. I started over again and got the same results.
You fellers got any ideas?

are you shooting a bag? I pay no attention to nock hi or low etc but rather where they are grouping, hi, low, left,right....and how they come off the bow.

when bare shafting they will stick in all directions, especially shooting bag targets.

maybe this will help ya... http://bowmaker.net/index2.htm click on bow tuning upper left of page

nock high means raise the nock point. The back of the arrow is hitting the shelf and rising.

Dave, thanks for the link it was interesting. I book marked it.

Zillla Your right. I reread the bare shaft tuning method from Brain Sorrells book and I guess I missed that part. He says

"Some people can't get rid of all the nock high because of their release or shooting style. Be very careful not to get the nocking point too low, which can cause the back end of the arrow to bounce up off the arrow shelf and make the arrow impact nock high."

Just wish I knew what in my release and or style is causing it. Man I'm glad This place is here so I can whine and complain about my ineptness.
