Well I found out today that that is my draw length. Is it safe to draw common trad bows back that far? Thanks.

Depends on the bow, Typically with a 31" draw length you'll be looking at a good 64" bow and 66" might be a better minimum. For target bows, you'll be in the 70" range for sure.

The way to tell if the BOW is too short for you, is if it stacks at your draw length, meaning you reach a point where it feels like the draw weight is increasing exponentially. For intermediate level shooters, the limit is when the limbs are being over stressed (when it stops responding to std tuning parameters). You can tell if YOUR draw length is too long for the bow, if the finger pinch (the string angle around youre fingers) is more than you want to deal with.

Viper1 out.

i have a 30.5" draw and use a martin x200. and its fine.

most long bows will be fine but i wouldn't recomend anything under 60" for a recurve. just go to your local shop and try out a few.

I draw 31.5" and shoot 68" longbows with no problems. I also have a 64" and a 66" recurve bow. Some bows stack and others don't. Shoot several bows and figure out which bows work for you and which bows stack.
