Does anyone use a kisser button to ensure you get the same draw and ancor each time ???? I use one on my compound bows for years, now I just try to put my finger in the corner of my mouth to ancor...I do think some times I get less than a full draw and solid ancor...with this method... your comment please

SOB -

Kisser buttons were very popular in the 60's and 70's with sight shooters using a below the chin anchor. They have somewhat fallen out of favor today, some folks say they add too much weight to the string and that may be a valid concern.

As far as the finger in the corner of the mouth - that's not an anchor, it's a reference point. For an anchor to be effective, it really needs to be bone on bone contact. With the (index) finger in the corner of the mouth, the thumb and web nicely fit under the jaw and THAT is the anchor, as in boat anchor. That's only one example though.

Viper1 out.

the most important thing to know about anchor points is that it must work for YOU!! The anchor point that is right for someone like Howard Hill or Byron Ferguson may not work for you. It is also true that the corner of the mouth is only a reference point. there must be contact with bone to have the most effective anchor.
