Hi guys, I am trying to decide on what form to use on a buck I am getting mounted. I am think about the Mckenzie upright offset form. I was also thinking about getting the new wall habitat to go with it like maybe a few rocks and a piece of wood. Anybody got any pics with the upright forms? Here is the buck in question........
I personally like the full sneak mounts. We all usually get our larger bucks during the rut when they are hound dogging does. The full sneak is usually a more accurate depiction of the time of year. Nose down trying to sniff out a hot doe.
I like to try and get the pose that they were in when I shot them as well. In this ones case, he was staring right at me at full alert, probably thinking "oohhh crap!"
I have 2 of my mounts done in semi upright with slight head turn. I think this is the classic mount. Last 2 bucks didn't make my 150 minimum for a shoulder mount, and were done as euro mounts. Next shoulder mount I am going to do a semi sneak.
here is 3 of mine on Dan Chase forms. My taxidermist had never used Dan Chase. I took him the book. He has now done many of them. Something different than the usual mounts. two left shoulder slight lefts and a right shoulder straight.
