I've been reading up on timing cams after switching out strings and cables and I've seen where some folks recommend measuring the exact length of the strings and cables under 45 to 100 lbs of pressure. I assume that this is to put the correct number of twists into the strings/cables so that they're up to spec and provide a starting point prior to actually tweaking them for timing?
Would it be possible (or advisible)to put a small hook up front on a draw board (in addition to the bow post) and crank the strings tight w/ a scale attached, to predetermined weight to accomplish this?
