I recently Drew a Tag on the Utah Plateau archery Pronghorn and I am not real familiar with the area. I am looking for suggestions on where to start my scouting. I am thinking to hunt off water but have no Idea where. Tis area is between Salina Utah and Boulder. Loa and Torrey are dead center in the area.
Here is a link to the border on google maps UT LImited Entry and Once in a Lifetime- Plateau
You can go anywhere south of fishlake to bicknell and find a lot of speed goates. There is a lot of water but plenty of goates at each watering hole. You can also go up high for spot and stock in the patches of quakes and pines.
my brother and I drew the same tag it took us 3 year to draw. we will be going down to do some scouting this summer. hope to see you there! we should keep in touch.
KP My brotha.
Just want to wish you boys luck down there. Those goats seem to exceptionally skittish. I guess prey for a long hot dry summer and find a water hole. But there are lots of them around.
