I have been thinking of trying Easton Full Metal Jacket, but when I looked at their spine chart, it looks as if 340's might be underspined for me. I shoot a 29.5" arrow, 100g head, 4" helical feathers. Other info. in sig. What do you all think? I don't want to waste the money if they won't work well.
Then there is the speciel version of them, the dangerous game. They are available in .300 (15.5 gpi) and .250 (17.2 gpi) for those of us who use heavy points and like heavy arrows
According to the Easton chart, I am on the border of either the 340's or 300's. I shot the Easton Epic and Excel's at 340 and splitted the ends of each arrow behind the insert area on the shaft. I talked to my proshop and he recommended the 300's FMJ for a little better durability out of my Hoyt. No problem so far and pull rather easily out of my targets too. Can't wait for the deer season!!
Can you run a little shorter arrow? I know my QAD HD will let me go as short as 26 3/4" and I have a 29" draw length.
