OAAS, I got your name from Arrow Splitter's profile. I hope you don't mind my PM out of the blue.
I've recently found out that I'm going to need to use a mouth tab to continue shooting. I tore the labrum in my shoulder and I'm unable to draw much weight at all. Still trying to rehab before making the decision on surgery. My primary goal is to start shooting with my 9 year old daughter again.
I have cams/string/cable on order, but I have questions about mouth tabs. Any advice would be appreciated!
At the shop, I just tied some loop material onto the loop and it worked fine, but it was only about 25 pounds. I can drop my bow to 50, but that's it. Does that sound realistic for a new shooter? I have some nylon tabs that are 3/8" wide and 1.5" long that I can attach to a loop. I've also heard of people using leather tabs, but I can't envision how those would be made. Can you offer any tips on making a tab?
I'm new to this, so any advice would be great!
Thanks!
Mike
